MAT Drug and Alcohol Counselor

The Las Vegas Rescue Mission is looking for a Co-Occurring Counselor to join our team. We are a private, faith-based organization that serves our community by offering a safe place for adult men and women to break the cycle of homelessness and/or addiction.

The Counselor/ Therapist will be in charge of providing substance abuse and mental health treatment in the Las Vegas Rescue Missions Recovery Program, Lighthouse Recovery. Lighthouse Recovery is a Low-Level Residential Adult Treatment program with Medication Assisted Treatment component. This includes but not limited to: conducting assessments, individual sessions, group sessions, behavior monitoring, and coordination of care. This position directly reports to the Recovery Program Supervisor.

Responsibilities and Requirements

• Assisting patients through medically assisting treatments (MAT) and offering techniques for handling opioid use
• Complete full biopsychosocials with DSM diagnosis and placement criteria
• Maintain a case load of 15-25, predominately those on MAT
• Facilitate weekly psychotherapy individual and group sessions as assigned
• Coordinate with treatment team continued care, emphasis on MAT treatment
• Initiate discharge planning and work with case management throughout treatment.

Qualifications

• LCADC, CPC, LCSW or Intern Status, or can qualify for internship through the state board
• Previous experience working with vulnerable populations preferred
• Understanding of opioid addiction treatment services
• Understanding of Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) services
• HMIS Data Entry/ EHR experience
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Understands person centered practices.
• Working knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook, MS Publisher, and Adobe Acrobat.
• Crisis Intervention/ de-escalation
• Excellent verbal, written interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Respectful of cultural diversity
• Networking skills

This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, offering a competitive benefit package and paid vacation.  Salary is commensurate with skills and experience.
