In 1970 the Lord
laid it upon the heart of six Las Vegas businessmen to bring the Gospel to
those who were homeless and hungry. God provided these men with a tiny
storefront at 414 West Bonanza Road. They began to minister to homeless men
by providing sandwiches, drinks, mats, and blankets. Most importantly they began
to reach out to the lost with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
From it's humble beginning over 35 years ago, the Las Vegas Rescue Mission
has continued to grow and now covers more than two full
blocks of West Bonanza Road. The Mission currently houses up to 100 men in our Celebrate Recovery program as well as
housing up to 45 women and children in our Shelter of
Hope. In addition to our residential program we are able to offer another 46 men
emergency shelter from the harsh Las Vegas climate.
Our focus is to touch as many lives as possible with the love of Jesus Christ
in an active and tangible way. Residents attend the Chapel Service held every evening
where local Bible Teaching Churches, as well as the Resident Pastor bring a message
of hope to those who have no hope and share the Gospel of Salvation with the lost
and dying in our community.
We also provide meals, clothing, household items and life-skills counseling for
those who are in need. Instead of simply providing a hand out, we provide a hand
up for those who are willing to take it and a chance for people to get back on their
feet. We prefer to think we are providing shelter and services
for people who have
no home, not people who are homeless.
Our goal is to continue to serve God and our community with integrity and sound programs
to reach the lost and dying with the hope of a better tomorrow.
Our operating expenses are funded primarily through individual contributions from
people like you. If you wish to donate click here.
