Emergency Shelter
 Home Page > Emergency Shelter

Emergency shelter at the Mission is provided to men, women, and children on a first come first serve basic. Our guests are allowed to stay seven nights and possibly longer depending on their particular circumstances. They are served dinner and breakfast each night they are here. Also, ice cream is served every night after chapel service.

Emergency shelter for single women:
Women stay in a dorm room setting. We have 12 beds available with fresh linens and hand made quilts. At the foot of the beds on each wall we have adequate shelving and a place to hang jackets, etc. Guests receive a clean set of clothing each night of their stay, which are theirs to keep.

Emergency shelter for mothers with children:
We have two family rooms, each set up with bunk beds, junior beds, and cribs if needed. Just like our single women, each family member receives fresh clothes each day for seven days. We also work with the "Homeless Advocates for Aged Children" to make sure each child continues their education without interruptions.  Mothers and children my receive an extension depending on their circumstances.  For example: if they are waiting on government housing.

Emergency shelter for single men:
Men stay in a dorm that has a capacity of 46 beds.  Each person is given a shower and fresh bed linens every night.

Emergency shelter for fathers with children:
Fathers with children stay in the New Life Center's family unit.  There is room for up to three families on any given night.

Single men and women are eligible for our "work program" where they can stay overnight at the Mission for 30 days if they can verify that they are currently employed.  Or, they can apply for entry into our Celebrate Recovery program.

Anyone in need of emergency shelter should line up outside the gate on D-street at 2:00 p.m. to receive their bed tickets. Women's check-in is at 4:45 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 4:15 p.m. on Sundays. Men's check-in is at 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 5:30 p.m. on Sundays. Directions to the Mission can be found here.  There is absolutely no cost for this service.
