Spiritual Guidance: One of the primary objectives of the Las Vegas Rescue Mission is to touch as many lives as possible with the love of Jesus Christ in an active and tangible way. The Mission has a full time resident Chaplin on staff. Daily bible study classes and small group session are facilitated by caring and experienced staff and volunteers. Emergency Shelter: Emergency shelter at the Mission is provided to men, women, and children on a first come first serve basis. Our guests are allowed to stay seven nights and possibly longer depending on their particular circumstances. Those staying overnight at the Mission are sever a worm dinner and morning breakfast. After evening chapel our "overnighters" receive an evening snack. (read more:) Celebrate Recovery Program: The Las Vegas Rescue Mission resident program is for men and women with life controlling addictions who want to make a positive life change. The focus of the program is on recovery, rehabilitation, and preparation for a return to productive living through the power and love of Jesus Christ. We offer this to everyone at no cost as a way to get off the streets to a safe environment where all their physical needs are provided for. This way, a resident can focus all his/her attention on recovery and building a strong relationship with Jesus Christ. (read more) Food Services: Daily Meals are served at 5:00 p.m. (4:30 p.m. on Sundays) for anyone who is hungry. Breakfast is supplied for overnight guests, and lunch for those who are a part of the residential programs, including a bag lunch for those who are working off-site. Over 700 meals are served every day of the year. Six months out of the year our commodities program provides food to needy families in our community. (read more) Thrift Store: Our Thrift Store is an important link between the community and the poor of Clark County. In-kind donations, which are picked up or dropped off, go to the Thrift Store, where they are sorted, cleaned (if needed) and then prepared for sale or given away. The Thrift Store offers items at low-cost to those who shop there. Clothing and household items are sold at minimal cost. All net proceeds go to help support the various programs we offer. The Mission has a small fleet of trucks that will pick up your used clothing, furniture, working appliances, and household items. Just call for a scheduled pick-up at 382-1766. (read more) |
