Administrative Assistant (Part-Time)

The Las Vegas Rescue Mission is looking for an Administrative Assistant to join our Administrative Services Department. We are a private, faith-based organization that serves our community by offering a safe place for men and women to break the cycle of homelessness and addiction.

The Administrative Services Department is responsible for all Accounting, Human Resource and IT functions at the Las Vegas Rescue Mission as well as providing administrative support to the President/CEO. The Administrative Assistant works under the direction of and closely with the Director of Administrative Services providing support in all these areas.

The Administrative Assistant must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, in a Christian, professional manner with other facility staff members, Mission residents, volunteers, donors, and customers. Organization, attention to detail, the ability to multi-task, and think on the fly are essential in this position.

Qualifications

This is a part-time position, 24-28 hours per week. Salary is commensurate with skills and experience.

Maintenance Person

The Las Vegas Rescue Mission is looking for a Maintenance Person to work in our Operations Department.  The LVRM is a private, faith-based organization that serves our community by offering a safe place for men and women to break the cycle of homelessness and addiction.

The Maintenance person will assist with the overall maintenance of the facilities at the Las Vegas Rescue Mission and reports to the Operations Manager. This is a full time position with benefits.

The function of the Maintenance position is to assist with supervision, planning, coordinating, and ensuring the proper maintenance of the facility that is the Las Vegas Rescue Mission. In doing so the Maintenance person must comply with all standards and directions specified by the Operations Manager, the President/CEO, the Board of Directors, and Mission Policy.

Requirements

  • Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in a professional manner with other facility staff members, residents, volunteers, and donors.
  • Must be able to give testimony of his/her relationship with Jesus Christ and evidence qualities of spiritual leadership including maturity, discernment, patience, encouragement, objectivity, and good stewardship.
  • Previous experience in a maintenance department at a large facility is an asset.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the upkeep and maintenance of Mission facilities.
  • Report all safety issues to the Operations Manager.
  • Assist in the purchase of all supplies and materials needed for maintenance and upkeep as directed by the Operations Manager.
  • Responsible for monitoring heating and air conditioning units; contacting outside vendors as required.
  • Assist in planning and implementation of Mission projects and renovations with Operations Manager.
  • Work with the maintenance crew, following all workplace guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform other appropriate duties as assigned by the Operations Manager.

Genesis Program Men’s Case Manager

The Las Vegas Rescue Mission is looking for a case manager to join our men’s recovery team.  LVRM is a private, faith-based organization that serves our community by offering a safe place for men and women to break the cycle of homelessness and addiction.

The Genesis Program is an 18 month residential program based on principles from the Bible, the Genesis Process counseling, and the 12 steps.

The Case Manager supports the ministries of the Genesis Program by providing high quality case management, care, counseling, spiritual leadership and records management for residents of the recovery program.

Essential Job Duties

  • Maintain a case load of up to 25 residents, meeting weekly or bi-weekly for a minimum of one hour. Conduct crisis counseling when needed and recommend appropriate treatment or action. Ensure program residents are meeting their assigned goals as it pertains to their spiritual growth, addiction treatment contract, housing and employment, and that they are adhering to program policies.
  • Proper documentation of meetings with clients.
  • Perform periodic drug screening of men as requested.
  • Maintain an atmosphere in the dormitories that will be most conducive to safety, dignity, and cleanliness.
  • Following operating procedures and policies for the program, and helping to refine where needed.
  • Representing the needs of clients from case load to other staff within LVRM and to the LV community as needed.
  • Crisis intervention, problem resolution and conflict resolution with clients.
  • Facilitating groups and teaching classes, as assigned. This may include leading a morning devotion time from the Bible.
  • Other duties as directed by Director of Recovery.
  • Providing Genesis Process Relapse Prevention Counseling (after training).
  • Being available for consultation on case load in an emergency.
  • Record, report, and maintain required records and statistical information including input into work therapy schedules and recovery program.
  • Attend and participate in all Mission and Department meetings and training, as required.
  • Developing, monitoring and evaluating the treatment plan for a case load of up to 25 residents.

Qualifications

  • Must be in agreement with the LVRM Statement of Faith (available upon request).
  • Able to maintain a professional attitude in dealing with people within and outside of LVRM.
  • Demonstrates behaviors aligned with LVRM employment policies and standards.
  • Mature in Christian faith. Knows the grace and mercy of God in personal brokenness, and able to communicate it to others.
  • Willing to be accountable and receive correction.
  • Excellent verbal, written interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Emotionally mature and resilient; capable of handling pressure.
  • Good personal boundaries; able to maintain a healthy personal and professional life.
  • Respectful of cultural diversity, and ability to interact positively with clients, other staff members, and agencies within the community.

Education and Training

  • Four years of higher education from an accredited institution in related field or equivalent experience.
  • CADC a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Word.
  • Experience with ‘Spero’ software an asset.
  • Training and experience as a Genesis counselor is a plus.
