Volunteer Code of Conduct
In order for everyone to have a positive, encouraging experience at the Las Vegas Rescue Mission,
we ask all volunteers to abide by the following code of conduct:
-
I understand that for my protection and for the best interests of the guests and New Life
Discipleship Program (NLDP) participants, I MAY NOT EXCHANGE ANY personal information such as
addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, text messages, etc., with any clients or NLDP
participants under any circumstances. I understand that I am not allowed to attempt to contact
any NLDP participant or client, except through a staff member, by means including but not
limited to telephone, letters, or email.
-
I understand that I may never spend time alone with a client or NLDP participant, or initiate
physical contact with any client or NLDP participant unless directly assigned to case
management, counseling, or mentoring by a staff member of the LVRM.
-
I understand that any physical contact or interaction that may be construed as flirty or
romantic in nature with a fellow volunteer, overnight guest or NLDP participant, regardless
of gender, will be grounds for my immediate dismissal as a volunteer and I will not be allowed
to enter the LVRM property for any reason after being asked to leave.
-
I understand that volunteers are not to give entities including, but not limited to, gifts,
money, or services or any item to any client or NLDP participant. Volunteers may not accept
any money or gifts from clients or NLDP participants for services rendered.
-
I understand that during any volunteer time I must abide by the following dress code: no short
shorts, skirts, tank tops, low cut tops, open toed shoes, heels low riding pants, or anything
else deemed immodest.

In addition to the above statements, we ask all volunteers to abide by the following
